The Woodlands is unique.

We are very proud that the Woodlands at Furman is the only locally owned, not-for-profit Life Plan Community in Upstate South Carolina. As a not-for-profit senior living community, we can reinvest in The Woodlands — benefiting the people who live here with more amenities, better services and a higher quality of life. Moreover, because we are locally owned and operated, we are not beholden to outside corporate interests.

Compared to many for-profit communities whose sole focus is benefiting their owners, investors or shareholders, we are committed to the greater good of residents and the local community. We know and love the area, and many team members were born and raised in the Upstate.

Perhaps most importantly, as a not-for-profit, we are able to offer Life Care contracts. This Life Care contract guarantees independent living and a full continuum of care on-site, including assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing.
