How to Dine Well.

Dining is about so much more than simply eating food. It’s about gathering for a shared experience that combines memorable dishes and good company. And it’s about gracious hospitality and warm, friendly service that exceeds expectations.

That’s what you’ll find when you dine at The Woodlands. No matter which dining venue you choose, you’ll be served delicious food that’s:

Real

Real food is made from fresh, raw ingredients. It’s made from scratch. And it’s made by passionate, trained chefs who care about the environment.

Local

Local, seasonal food is fresher, tastes better and is good for the environment and local economies. At least 20% of our ingredients come from small farmers, ranchers, fishermen and food producers within 150 miles of The Woodlands.

Responsible

Our chefs prepare food in small batches, so the last person served experiences the same high-quality meal as the first one served. We cook only what’s needed, which reduces food waste and minimizes leftovers.

Inclusive

Everyone should have an exceptional dining experience. One way we provide that is by accommodating special dietary requests in ways that please the palate and nourish the body.

A Matter of Choice

Our dining room was designed to give you choices that make each meal something special.

Display Kitchen. This is the hub that features different stations to satisfy your cravings.
Hearth Oven. Fresh pizza and calzones, cedar plank salmon and many other flame-kissed dishes.
Sauté Station. Order and get table-side delivery for menu items and customized dishes. Mix and match your proteins, get just the right amount of sauce or add a little extra heat–however you like it, you can watch the culinary team create it.
Carving Station. Slow-roasted prime rib, honey-glazed ham, herb-encrusted turkey…get it carved to your specifications.
Salad Bar. Create a simple side salad or a hearty main course salad made of your favorite fresh ingredients.

Fine Dining. For an anytime fine dining experience or a special occasion, enjoy the full table service menu as you sit back and socialize with friends and family.
Bountiful Buffet. Choose from an abundance of protein and fresh vegetable options at this well stocked, served buffet. There’s also a salad bar with mixed greens, house-made specialty salads and scrumptious accompaniments.
Fresh Bakery. Cap off a great meal with a delightful dessert created by our pastry chef in this state-of-the-art bakery.
Casual Café. Here’s where you’ll find grab-and-go sandwiches and coffee served throughout the day, as well as muffins and pastries made in our bakery. It’s also where you can gather with friends for a pre-dinner beverage.
Conservatory. This semi-private dining space can be reserved for a special occasion. Its large windows bring the outdoors in. And the French doors open onto a terrace dotted with dining tables, pergolas with fans and fire pits so you can enjoy dining al fresco for a little bit longer.

The Joy of Learning.

We probably get more questions about our lifelong learning opportunities than we do about anything else. And it’s no wonder. We have a partnership with Furman University, a highly-ranked private liberal arts college. In fact, our property is contiguous to the campus, where an on-campus building is dedicated to Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) classes. So folks who are curious, eager to challenge themselves and delight in discovering something new want to know if their love of learning will have an outlet. The answer is a resounding yes!

Osher Lifelong Learning Institute provides a wide array of noncredit courses and activities specifically developed for adults ages 50 and older who are interested in learning for the joy of learning.

What started in 1993 as Furman University Learning in Retirement became OLLI in 2008, and the founder of OLLI is a board member here at The Woodlands. Since then, the program has expanded to include a huge range of lifelong learning opportunities. What does that mean for you? Well, it means you can participate in classes, lectures, hands-on experiences, day trips and cultural events.

The Furman Connection

Living in a college town adds energy and excitement to life. Now imagine living close to a university that welcomes you with open arms. As a resident, you can:

  • Play golf at Furman University Golf Club
  • Get a university library card
  • Take advantage of the campus hiking and walking trails
  • Enjoy discounted or free tickets to Furman music events and athletic events

You can also participate in the Adopt-a-Grandparent/Adopt-a-Grandchild program, which pairs you with a Furman student. It’s an opportunity to mentor, to learn and to stay connected to a younger generation.
